FDA Acts to Remove Homeopathic HCG!

This week, the FDA announced that they would act to rid the marketplace of homeopathic HCG.   Hurray!

Homeopathic HCG has been sold by unscrupulous companies and doctors (yes – even doctors!) on the claim that it contains the “essentials” of HCG necessary for weight loss, blah, blah, blah….

Now both the FDA and FTC are on the trail to remove homeopathic HCG from the USA.  A good move for consumers and legitimate weight loss companies like us!

The following is taken directly from the FDA announcement:

The labeling for the “homeopathic” HCG products states that each product should be taken in conjunction with a very low calorie diet.

“These HCG products marketed over-the-counter are unproven to help with weight loss and are potentially dangerous…” said Ilisa Bernstein, acting director of the Office of Compliance in FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “And a very low calorie diet should only be used under proper medical supervision.”

Unproven – yes, homeopathic HCG is not much more than water and alcohol…

Dangerous – yes, taking a fake medicine AND reducing calories is indeed dangerous

Doctor supervision – absolutely required – we couldn’t agree more
